Hi Narasaiah

The main ways you are going to be interacting with the S/4HANA system on-premise is via either RFC, IDoc or HTTP (OData or SOAP). All those options are supported by CPI.

Since your S/4HANA system is on your internal network, CPI - running in the cloud - will not be able to reach it. The most common solution to this connectivity problem is Cloud Connector.

When Cloud Connector is installed on-premise, it opens an encrypted tunnel to your SAP Cloud Platform subaccount. You then configure which backend systems, you want to allow access to, and which specific resources on those backend systems.

From that point onwards, your CPI integration flows will be able to reach those allowed resources like e.g. OData services on your on-premise system.

Regards,

Morten

The documentation is here, and it's quite good, actually. Also, there are quite a few blog posts on the SAP Community site about Cloud Connector.

You will be able to call RFCs, yes.
