Hi,

The total column size for a list screen is 1023 characters.

The 99 fields (columns) is only a limitation of the list based grid. With the control grid you can have more.

In ALV Grid you can display any number of fields, but in ALV list, it is resticated upto 1024 Char.

I think the limit is some 1024 characters total page width.

Anything beyond that may not be supported.

Container is not something to hold the fields. Container will hold the controls like GRID, TREE, TEXT EDIT etc. There are different types of containers - CUSTOM, EASY SPLIT, SPLIT, DIALOG, DOCKING.

While EASY SPLIT can be split into two, SPLIT container can be split into 16 X 16 - meaning it can hold 256 controls. Other containers cannot be split.
