SAP Solution for operating in Iran

Hi,

Our Client has business in Iran and SAP does not support selling licences or providing services in Iran or countries that are restricted like North Korea, Cuba etc.

How can this situation be managed around

1. unable to host data or applications.

If a Bolt On Application be developed and can be hosted in a separate Instance outside the restricted country , what are the risk and operational problems and how it can be mitigated.

    Hello Manish,

This question is not related to the functionalities of SAP GTS but more on the infra aspect of SAP GTS setup.

However, please could you share as to why your business wants to store data in Iran only (with a dedicated server). SAP GTS is a central system and its servers can be held in either your business's home country or any other country of its operation and this will not interfere anyway with the way you transact in SAP GTS system.

Please do let me know in case of any disconnect on this topic.

    Regards,

    Amandeep

Hi Amandeep, Thanks for your Response , I agree this is not related to GTS. The Question is mainly around doing SAP Business in Iran. Our US based company is already having an Instance of SAP in Iran with functionalities around Finance and Supply Chain , However with latest trade Restrictions from US to Iran , prohibits hosting data or applications in Iran .

I was looking to understand how this issue is being addressed by other customer or partner solutions.
