Information Design Tool opening universe based report

Greetings SAP Community,

I would like to ask a question with regards to Information Design Tool. Basically, I'm trying to open a universe based report that was working find up until recently. I personally suspect that something has happened after HANA upgrade to 2.0 but I might be wrong. So on the screenshot it is clearly visible that report is trying to connect to server 192.168.1.14:30015 and my question is how could I edit this part? Because this server is 192.168.1.14:30015 is actually Production server not development and I've logged into development environment. So, I'm not sure why the report on DEV is trying to connect to HANA on LIVE. Does anyone have any clue? Appreciate any help in advance!

ERROR

SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to "jdbc:sap://192.168.1.14:30015;:30015" [None of the hosts could be reached. [Cannot connect to host "http://192.168.1.14:30015" [Connection refused: connect], -813.host = :30015 error = Cannot connect to host :30015 [Connection refused: connect], -813.; ]].

  • Thank you for your question; please note I updated the primary tag to semantic layer, as IDT relates to that better than BI Platform.

Please be careful when selecting tags in the future.

    Hi Dennis,

first you should check you connection used by your universe in IDT. Therefor please open the connection used stored in your repository resources-folder "Connections". In the opened window you can find three buttons for EDIT, TEST and CHANGE DRIVER. With EDIT you can modify you connection parameters. I don't know why the port ist shown twice in your error message, maybe it is normal. But the port is only be needed to be given if you use the "Multiple Server"-feature. Only then the last line of the configuration can be filled. Otherwise only hostname and instance number can be filled with your parameters BUT without giving a portnumber.

As second, if you used the driver of HANA 1.x before, please check also that you use the most current driver for HANA 2.x.

IMHO I recommend to use server-alias-names instead of IP-adresses :-)

Hopefully any of my thoughts will solve your problem...

    Best regards

    Markus
