Not able to update VMSTD field with empty using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEREPLICA

Hi,

When am trying to update VMSTD field with empty value using 'BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEREPLICA' while updating the material, we are getting error message ' ''Valid from" date only defined in conjunction with status'. How it can be resolved?

Regards,

Manoj Reddy

The error is somewhat self-explanatory - you use validity dates like VMSTD (VALID_FROM) only when you specify distribution chain specific material status VMSTA (SAL_STATUS). You also need to update SALESDATAX in addition to SALESDATA.

Speak with your functional consultant if you need additional information on which material status you are supposed to update.

    Thank you for the reply.

Here, I have a material already and I would like to update the VMSTA value to BLANK. So, I need to update the VMSTD to balnk as well. When am doing it, it is throwing an error. How it can be handled?

Once again thank you for your reply.

I was able to update material status and validity with BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEREPLICA by populating the following structures and fields:

For the sales status I left the field blank.

Then I called BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT (of course).

Try to use the same parameters as mine in SE37 to see if this works in your system and after this you can check whether in your program you populate the correct fields.

Now the issue is resolved by passing 00000000 to the date field

Thank you for the reply Veselina
