PR Release Workflow trigger on MD01N

Hi All,

There is a requirement where Releasestepcreated event needs to be triggered while creating the Purchase Requisition using new transaction MD01N for MRP live in s/4 hana system so that the workflow related to PR release also will be triggered.

At the moment when the PR is created using MD01N, no standard event gets triggered in SWEL.

Can someone guide on this how to proceed on the requirement?

Thanks.

    Hello

No workflow is triggered for purchase requisitions created by MRP in standard. Triggering a mass workflow for requisitions generated by MRP could lead to performance issues and to a massive creation of events during the MRP run, which is not desired. See the following notes for details:

1976456 - No workflow in requisitions created with MRP

2856173 - Flexible Workflow Status 'Active'(02) for Purchase Requisitions created by MRP

    • Hi Leena

In standard it is clear this is not possible. You can try to use one of the AMDP BAdIs available in MRP Live to develop a custom logic, but I'm not sure if it will be possible to trigger a workflow from a stored procedure. You can try to check BAdI PPH_MRP_UPDATE_BADI.

Another alternative is to for your materials to be planned iby MRP Live n ABAP, using transaction MD_MRP_FORCE_CLASSIC. Then you would have to implement an ABAP based BAdI to trigger your workflow. Be aware that you may not achieve the best performance with this option.
