Hello SAP community,

I am new to SAP, I have a question about Reflection Account.

What is the purpose of this account, what is the logic behind it ?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Amine.

Hi Eli,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I find this term in Production - Purchase Account Movements (FI).

for example, according to our chart of account, if we have a P&L account like 730 General Production Expenses and we want to create a reflection account. we change the number 0 in third position to number 1 it will become 731 General Production Expenses Reflection. we do that to sold the first account with the reflection account.

I don't know why. So, you know something about this practice share it with us I will appreciate you help.

I'm afraid this is internal terminology of your client. You should check with the accountant the business meaning of this. This has nothing to do with the settings of SAP system

It's not related with the SAP setting, it concern the link between FI and CO during the month end closure.

These accounts are made because we need to sold some P&L account at the end of the month.

I made some research in the internet but I did't find anything.

You didn't find anything, because it is some internal term at your site. I cannot guess whether it is linked to FI, CO, month closure or another process just from a description of G/L account. I'm afraid you have to investigate internally within your team what possible purpose this particular account has. When I mentioned SAP setting, my point was that it is not generic SAP question and cannot be answered from a perspective of SAP consultant who doesn't have access to your system. Please, close the thread.
