MRP to select sourcing based on availability

Problem Statement:

Client creates a sales order at sales plant and this demand should be met by Client manufacturing plants A or B.

Now currently they check with Plant A, if not available then check with Plant B. Now requirement is client wants MRP to run at Sales plant and perform a availability check at Plant A, if yes, create PR accordingly with supplying plant as Plant A. If not, then system should check at Plant B, if yes, create PR with supplying plant B, else PR should be left blank.

Could you please let me know if this functionality is feasible in SAP.

    Hello

MRP does not check for the availability in the supplying plant when defining a source of supply.

You can use BAdI MD_MODIFY_SOURCE to implement your own logic to select the source of supply, but this is not a simple logic and it may cause performance issues during the MRP run if you are running this BAdI for too many materials.
