Monitoring Stale SLD Connections

Periodically I notice some systems in my landscape stop reporting to my SLD system (production Solman 7.2). (Why they stop reporting is out of scope for this message.) So I was wondering if there is a way to monitor these stale connections and notify me, lets say after 24hrs, that system ABC hasn't reported itself to the SLD. Is this possible? If so, how?

Thanks for reading this post,

    Hello Chad,

You can monitor the changes on LMDB side with generic BPMon Data Collector "Table Entry Counter".
    1. Find the logs in details for CIM Instance of your technical system in LMDB:

    2. With Change Log ID determine the HASH of your system in LMDB_P_CHANGELOG table (SE16):

    3. Follow the setup guide from BPMon wiki page and create an alerting monitoring object in SOLDOC for table LMDB_P_CHANGELOG.
Example filters for "at least one filtered log entry for the last 12 hours":

    4. Provide thresholds, data collection parameters, custom descriptions for alerts/notifications/incidents, generate and activate.

Add steps or interfaces with alerting objects for other systems and you can get the one-view diagram for the whole landscape within BPMon app. Reuse it for your operational dashboards.
    Good luck!

    • For some reason the $HOURR parameter works worse with timestamps than $TIMEH.
The selection options interval also works poorly. E.g. for UTCTIME interval from $TIMEH-12" to $TIMEH" got the embarrassing error:

From value "$TIMEH-12" is greater than the to value "$TIMEH" in range specification of "Filter 1 Sel.options"

    Hello Chad Sanders,

ABAP systems sends data through SAP background job which is SAP_SLD_DATA_COLLECT

Please check this bacground job successfully finished or not.

This indicates your system send data to SLD or not.

    Thank you
