Crystal Reports runtime SP25 and .NET 3.5

Per the wiki page, https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Crystal+Reports%2C+Developer+for+Visual+Studio+Downloads, .NET 3.5 is required for Crystal Reports for Visual Studio. Is it required for the runtime only?

No. I believe it is also required on the machine where VS is installed. The foundation of the SDK is written using 3.5. So, while the SDK is compatible with newer versions of the .NET framework, you would still need to have 3.5 installed.

Don Williams, please correct me if I misunderstand this.

    Hi Dell,

It's whatever Microsoft supports, so if 4.x does not require 3.5 then CR won't either.

With the update to VS 2015 3.5 is the minimum framework it supports.
