Performing exact vendor ID searches within Ariba

I am trying to figure out how to do an exact match search within the "choose value for supplier field" when entering invoice information. We have a lot of vendors that have vendor ID numbers that are only a couple digits long but have nearly 100000 vendors. So when our users are trying to search for a vendor using the ID number they can end up getting hundreds of results. Does Ariba have an exact match feature within a search? I tried using quotes around the vendor id numbers but ariba returns no results when I use quotes. I tried a bunch of random keys and discovered that _ is a wildcard feature within search. However, I haven't been able to find a an exact search feature.
