Does anyone have experience with integrating SAP Analytics Cloud with AWS Redshift? In particular, are the SAC JDBC connectors a performant and reliable way to exchange data, or do we really need to move data thru files & S3? If we have to make all of our SAP instance data available in both Redshift and SAC, would it be better to use live connectors with SAC to the SAP instances, and use import/export of files to S3/Redshift independently, or to use a more consistent approach (ie import/export files to both). Are there specific tools that anyone would recommend that have been used to reliably perform SAC<=>Redshift integration at scale?
Hi Matt,
You might what to look at the APOS Live Gateway to enable you to read data S3 and Redshit via https://www.apos.com/content/apos-live-data-gateway
No comment on performance etc but this looks promising .

Hi all,
In case it helps, I confirm that I have integrated SAC with AWS Redshift using APOS LDG for Live data connection and Cloud Connector / Cloud Agent for Imported data connection. Both connections work reasonably well.
JDBC driver is RedshiftJDBC42-no-awssdk-1.2.47.1071.jar.
Kind regards,
Carlos

Hi carlos.p.c. ,
Thanks for your reply. Can you please share with me how you did this exactly (installations - configurations). That will really help me out.
I already tried to create the connection, I got the error message that the database drive is misconfigured.
Thanks in advance
I just published the blog How to connect SAP Analytics Cloud with AWS Redshift via JDBC.
I hope it helps.
Kind regards,
Carlos
Hi diana.victorero ,
hi mikethespike,
could you do the connection to Amazon Redshift? I got the same error message that The database drive is misconfigured. Can you please share the solution with me if you found it.
Thanks in advance

There is additional requirement for Redshift:
You must use a Simba JDBC driver for Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR, Apache Hadoop Hive, Cloudera Impala, Apache Spark, and Hortonworks Data Platform.
This is written in SAC's help -> Home -> Connections -> Import Data Connection -> Import Data Connection to an SQL Database
BTW, I run into the same issue even with Simba driver. Meanwhile, the connection is working there via generic connection: https://answers.sap.com/questions/13173656/connect-sap-cloud-analytic-to-redshift.html

connection-error-sac.jpgHi Matt,
Did you could integrate SAP Analytics Cloud to Redshift?
We have just applied all the steps from de blog below:
https://blogs.sap.com/2020/05/14/connecting-analytics-cloud-to-snowflake-import-mode/
But gives as an error: "The database drive is misconfigured. Please contact your on-site Analytics Cloud agent administrator." (image attached) .
We have configured Agent and also the config file (c4a_agent_drivers.properties) but we get stuck in the step when we need to create connection in SAC.
We are using the JDBC driver: redshift-jdbc42-1.2.36.1060.jar
Provided by our SQL Client Aginity Pro. Also tried with the driver from Amazon: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/mgmt/configure-jdbc-connection.html#download-jdbc-driver and also give us same error.
Hope you could help us.
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Diana Victorero

You could use a similar approach as mentioned in the blog below for SnowFlake integration.
You could replace the SnowFlake driver with Amazon RedShift.

Hello Matt,
were you able to use the SAC JDBC connectors to make a connection to Amazon Redshift ? We would like to do the same thing. Any info you can share.
Best Regards,
Michael
