Can the SAP Business Client 7 be configured to launch SAP Business Objects 4.2?

Is there a way to configure the new SAP Business client to launch SAP Business Objects? Currently, the user has to launch a IE session and connect to the URL of the Bobj server.

    Hi Michael,

are you planning to use the Fiori launchad (FLP) connection within the SAP Business Client 7.0 (currently PL5)?

Using the SAP Fiori launchpad designer you can configure a URL target mapping. The link will be opened as a new tab.

All the content that will be launched in FLP will be displayed in the SAP Business Client as well. Plus: Native Win Gui transaction!

For further questions regarding the launchpad configuration pl. get in contact with the FLP colleagues.

    Regards,

    Sandra

We do not have S4/HANA implemented so I was under the assumption the Fiori launchpad was not an option at this time. We currently have ECC 6.0 EHP6, BW 7.30, PI 7.11 EHP1, and Bobj 4.2 SP04.

We exclusively use the SAPGUI client 7.31 and want to upgrade to something more current. As bobj access requires a URL and the users must open a browser, I thought the SAP Business client might be a good alternative for a single interface. I was using the Belize theme in the SAP Business client.

I'm not sure this answers your question but thank you for the response.

With some playing with settings, I was able to use the SAP Business client and configure both SAPGUI connections and connect to our Bobj server. The issue appears to be I needed to select Internet Explorer as my browser, not Chromium which I guess is not Google Chrome. Anyway, it appears to be working as I expected and will have our testing team check it out.

    Thanks for sharing the tip
