Is it possible to regenerate ASE 15.5 license?

The long story short is, I have an application which can't call up the ASE database because of an issue with the license. The software was licensed to a VMware VM several years ago. The hardware infrastructure needs to be replaced and so the VMs were exported and recreated on different hardware. They could not be used due to the license error. The original VMware farm then had a problem and when the VMs were recreated, these the originals, started throwing the same error. The license is permanent but I can't get any support through SAP as I don't know if there's a support contract and they can't find the company

Assuming you're (still) running ASE under a VM, have you tried configuring the VM to use the same host id (eg, mac address) as is mentioned in the license?

You'll also want to make sure the (newer) VM is using the same number of cpus/cores/processors as is listed in the license.

NOTE: you may also need to configure the (newer) VM with the same hostname as mentioned in the license file (I want to say this isn't necessary but I'd have to dig through some old notes and/or run some tests)
