resource with storage characteristics

Hi all

We have the following scenario:

Semifinished line to feed an intemediate tank and then to feed Finished line.

We need to limit the max quantity in the intermediate tank. So do I need to create the semifinished line as storage resource or do I need the semifinished lined plus the storage tank?

If the second I assume I need to add to the recipe as a phase?

Hello,

Yes resource should with with storage characteristics and it need to add in recipe phase along with storage location.

In transaction CRC1 you have to assign a storage location to the resource and saved it . Then system then transferred the resource to Advanced Planning, but in transaction /SAPAPO/RES01 the field 'Sublocation'

Do you have any setup activity here?

Check may be the resource is assigned as Multi resource where as capacity is maintained as 1.

A container resource is a multi resource or multi-mixed resource with storage characteristics.

Also execute transaction /SAPAPO/REST02 with option Save selected Resource liveCache for the affected Resource, to ensure it is successfully saved in the liveCache.

The resource category has to be S (Warehouse)?and where to assign storage location in CRC1?

Hello,

In basis data tab you have an option to assign the storage location.

You can use machine category too, or create resource for category 0014 ( Storage resource ) where storage location is mandatory in standard SAP.
