CAL: Internal Server Error at WebIDE for SAP SQL DQH (via Remote Desktop, Google Cloud Service)

I installed an instance of SAP SQL Data Warehouse (Developer Edition) via Cloud Appliance Library. I used the default installation.

- Setting up + start iinstance: works

- Connecting via Remote Desktop Connection: works

- Starting XS Advanced Cockpit (Port 51039): works

- Starting + connecting Eclipse: works

But the other tools aren't working. In Chrome + Firefox I have to add an exception at the safety warning but then I just get the Text "Internal Server Error" (not "500 Internal server error). It's all the same at:

- Web IDE (51029)

- DI Builder (51041)

- DI Space Enablement (51029)

Restarting instance had no effect. Completely terminating and reinstalling instance (on other Google Server) had no effect.

Does anybody had the same problem and solved it?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I am experiencing the same problem, same symptoms. I created my CAL instance on GCP and it activated successfully. However, both SAP Web IDE and SAP EA Designer result in an "internal server error". I have not found a solution to this yet either.

Hi Fabian,

You and I already looked at this together outside this thread, and solved the issue. The issue is an expired certificate that we use internally between our components. For others, the following should solve your issue:

“An expired server certificate for the XS advanced default domain or a bad certificate configuration might prevent the xscontroller service from starting. As a solution, log in at the HANA system as <sid>adm user and issue the following command:

XSA reset-certificate“

In order to give that command, you will need to use the XS Command Line:

Thanks for reporting this!
