BPM: call a RFC, insert data, try to update and if any error occurs rollback work

I am trying to call a RFC in NW BPM automated activity and insert some data in a table. After that, I try to update another data in the same table and if an error occurs I have to delete the last id inserted.

From the first step I receive an ID which I try to store in a local Data Object and to use it in the next step in case of some errors.

My problem is that when the first step is finished, the id from local Data Object is no more available, and I would know if there is a possibility to persist the id returned in the first step.

Thank you!
