Spaces Replaced with Plus Sign in IW21 (sometimes)

I couldn't find a reference to how this is supposed to work, but I'm hoping somebody can clarify/elaborate on this.

In IW21 (and probably others), the long description field replaces spaces with '+' plus signs, but only sometimes. This seems to only happen using the GUI for HTML.

Why does this happen?

For example, when using the values below in the full description, they only change sometimes.
'This is a test' => 'This+is+a+test'
'This + is a test with + plus signs' => no change
'This is a test
with a line break' => no change

    This vaguely rings a bell as something that was happening a while ago and was fixed since. Install the latest patch level for your kernel release and make sure your Personas client sources note is at the latest available version, then re-test.

    • Hmm... that is a relatively recent kernel patch level (two stacks behind), so I wouldn't expect it to have this issue. Still, it doesn't hurt to try on the most recent stack. I don't see the problem in a system that's on kernel 753 PL 500.
      You mentioned that this happens in webgui. Did you also test using Slipstream Engine? If the problem happens only in the webgui, this would point to a Unified Rendering issue (since SE doesn't use UR).
