Create report on SAP IDM 8.0

Dear Expert,

Please suggest how to create a report containing a list of users in IDM. I tried to find the way to create a report but don't understand at all. I'm very new to IDM. Can someone explain the steps to create a report in IDM? Just a standard CSV or TXT will help us a lot.

Best Regards,

Marvin

    Hi Marvin,

speaking in general: you select the data you want to report and export the result accordingly e.g. as CSV/TXT, put it inside a HTML page or embed it into XML structure, store it on file-system or send it per mail.

The easiest form of "report" is the result of the SQL statement in the DB util (e.g. Squirrel).

Second would be a job with a ToASCII pass, source would be an SQL statement like

select mcdisplayname as DISPLAYNAME, mcmskeyvalue as IDM_ID from idmv_entry_simple
    where mcentrytype = 'MX_PERSON'

    and destination accordingly DISPLAYNAME, IDM_ID.

Next level would be some kind of form to trigger the report and a process to collect and export the data.

    HTH

    Regards,

    Alex

    Hello Marvin,

just create a job with a "to ASCII file" pass and use the source tab to find the pool of users and the target tab to set the definition for the csv-file (like name, columns etc).

    .

Check the eclipse help and documentation for more info.

    .

    Regards,

    Steffi.

    Hi Marvin,

in the source you need to specify the DB or the Identity Store. When you want to use my query, you need to select SAP Identity Management Database.

In the destination specify the file location which will be generate on the machine you are running your dispatcher on! Better not use the file browser if you use Eclipse from a different location than the dispatcher!

Also I would recommend the following settings:

Once you run the job the job log should produce a result similar to that:

The file looks like this (my dispatcher is on a linux host and I am using less to show the file content):

Don't worry about the multiple idmadmin, it's due my usage of multiple ID stores.

These settings should help you to get a working job. If not... I'll read about it... :-)

    Regards,
    Alex
