Multi Customer process variant missing in help documentation

Hi experts!

I need information on Multi customer project process variant behaviour, but this information is missing in SAP help document "Configuration: Project types" (https://help.sap.com/viewer/2754875d2d2a403f95e58a41a9c7d6de/1811/en-US/2be04fdc722d1014bbc6875f9c2633b6.html).

Please, can anyone explain me why? Is it because Multi Customer variant type follows the same process variant as any of the other 3 variants (Direct cost project, Customer project or Overhead cost project).

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Pau Serratosa

    Hello Pau,

Thanks for your feedback , we ask the concern team to update the document.

Please find the below explanation for Process Variant Multi-Customer Projects.

You use multi-customer projects for events such as concerts or exhibitions where you sell standardized services. The system can automatically defer and recognize costs and revenues for multi-customer projects if an accrual method is assigned to the project. If no accrual method is assigned, costs are posted to the relevant expense account and revenues are posted to Sales Revenues.

Only customer projects, multi-customer projects, and direct cost projects can be invoiced and thus generate revenues.

I hope above information is useful.

    Best regards,
    Sahalya

    Hi Sahalya!

    Thanks for you quick response.

So, I understand that this kind of project is not used for selling materials because they do not permit to assign cost and revenues on sales order neither deliver materials from stock to customers using Project Stock Orders. As direct cost projects, it just allows consumption at site.

    Is it right?

    Thanks in advance!
