Data Warehouse Cloud connection with DPAgent fails with Insufficient Privileges

Has anybody tried that yet?

When I want to register the DPAgent in the Hana using the provided login, I get the error "Insufficient Privileges, select * from public.EFFECTIVE_PRIVILEGES".

Anybody seen that?

Steps to reproduce:

  • In the Home screen, click on the administration button (left menu, very bottom).
  • Create new Agent Communication Credentials
  • Go to the DPAgent config tool and use the created credentials, here DP_MSG_WDAGENT
  • Login succeeds obviously but the user does not have enough privileges to read the Hana data dictionary.

Never mind. Of course I cannot login with the Messaging User into Hana.

Following this guide helped.

Hi Werner,

did you register the agent just today? There was an issue a few weeks back that the user generated on DWC side was assigned to few privileges. You may get around this by deleting the agent registration and create a new one, using a different agent name. This will result in another user being generated on DWC side which should get the required privileges. If that new user still misses privileges and you receive the insufficient privilege error, please raise an incident on XX-PROJ-BETA mentioning your tenant URL.

Thanks, Jascha

I did that yesterday evening and just now again. Same error.

I can't raise a support ticket as Partner Open Edge user, can I?

Hi Werner,

since you're already in contact with Stefan, can you send an e-mail to him formally asking for support on this issue and mention your tenant URL? We can then forward this to the respective colleagues.

Thanks!
