Assign User to Standard Variants

I follow the help document here to create variant groups and assigning users. My environment is SAP S/4HANA 1610.

I have followed all the steps until the step:

"3.However, for the screen variants of the variant group that you created above to be displayed for the user, you first need to select Set Proposal.

The user is assigned to the group and the associated transactions are started with the corresponding variants only once you choose the Set Proposal function.

If you now open the where-used list for users again, you can see that the user is marked with a cross."

I assign it to my own user and I click the set proposal, but I cannot see the mark in the where-used list for users. When I test the tcode using my user, I don't see the variant is being applied for my user.

Is there something I miss?

Thank you.

It should set for your own user ID too.

Transaction Variant, go to the "Standard Variants" Tab, then click "Activate Button and check if it get activated for all users and then deactivate it and try for particular user.
