Dear Experts,

Now we are in AFS ERP 6.0, EHP 7. In pipeline of S/4 HANA FASHION, 1809- on premise.

In S/4 HANA FASHION system , I created a generic material with variants using MM41 - as old by a functional expert. The details ( Basic data 1 and 2) are updated in MARA. Once I add the plant data of the material using MM01 , system is throwing the below error " You must use retail functions to process the material XXX" .

Can anybody guide me what to do / what changes has to be done to clear the error ?

Sorry at least you can try the suggested solution and let us know the results, as we do not have access to your system and we don't have a similar version of you we can predict if it's going to work 100% the best way is trying.

Hi Anoop,

You cannot use MM01 in S/4 HANA FASHION, 1809 since it is built on an SAP retail base.

Do the following steps:

1.Assign your plants in groups to an assortment using TCode WSOA1.

2.Create you material via MM41 in your reference plant.

3.Then you can then list mutiple generic articles to the plants in the assortment using tcode WSM3.

True, it also does not work in my test systems. So, please raise a SAP incident to report this, and it will be investigated.

I think this is not possible to use an article in both industries parallel. You can use materials and articles parallel, but extending an article with both retail sites and production plants is not possible as per my experience.

In a workshop, they shown the scenario in S/4 Fashion 1809 , Hana On premise in the their system. Create basic data in MM41 and plant data of the same generic /variant material in MM01. But the same is not working in our S/4 Fashion 1809 client.

Hi,

I do not see the purpose of doing this.

From practical side: if you are using an Article created in MM41, a listing error will occur whenever you want to procure it, despite of you have extended the article (MARC), hence the WLK1 entry won't be generated for a production plant ever.

For production plant usage you have to create a Material in MM01, here no listing check will occur.

In our scenario ,the same material is being used for retailing ,wholesale business and for production.

I assigned characteristics to a characteristics profile and created basic data of generic material with variants by following the steps in S/4 Fashion testing system ,suggested by you in the below thread.

Steps I followed:
CT04 created characteristics
CL01 created the class with type 300, assigned the characteristics
W10M /WG22 Assigned the characteristic profile to the merchandise category

MM41 Created generic material with variants

Now I want to do the production configuration of the same material. So I used MM01, system suggesting to use MM41/42 / getting the error " You must use retail functions to process the material" . But in MM41 , MARC view are not availabele.

Can you please guide and share the TCodes to proceed for the process ..

Did you try the suggested transaction code? If not, better try in DEV, validate yourself whether it is working or not. Ideally, it should work in 1809 but not sure.

Hello;

Your material cannot be maintained with MM01 or MM02...

You should use MM42 to extend your material to other plants or creating plant data. In MM42 you should use the validity area, then go to the listing tab and Execute Listing.
