Crystal Reports: Subreports displaying in the next row

I have a report that contains three subreports. The subreport #1 and #2 are placed side by side in the details section of the main report. They are the same height, but subreport #1 is slightly bigger than the #2. When I export the report in the Excel data-only format, the subreport #2 is placed in the new row, below the data of the subreport #1.

I've been researching for ways to correct this so that the subreport #2 would be displayed next to the subreport #1, but so far, nothing works. Does anyone know how to modify the report so that subreports are side by side when exported to Excel data-only format?

Unfortunately, this is the way the Excel export works. There is no way to get them to line up horizontally when exporting to Excel.
