Data Blending between 2 planning models in SAP Analytics Cloud

Hi All,

I'm struggling right now with data blending in SAC.

I have 2 planning models, one based on "Actuals Version" and another on "Planning Version" with the same dimensions.

I want to use both of them inside a story through a data blending method.

After linking the 2 models with linked dimensions, I tried to display both versions in a table, but I got an error message telling me that the data cannot be displayed because the query return too many records.

Even though I'm applying filters to reduce the number of records, it still shows me the same error.

Is there anyone who has faced this kind of problem?

Thank you

    Hi Jean Bernard,

Can you hoover across the exclamation mark displayed in the upper left corner of the table header and share what is being displayed?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Jean Bernard,

I have not seen the latter warning before. Are you positive that the linking is done properly between the two models, either via ID or Description? Do all 4 dimensions need to be linked? I have seen the greyed-out 'Cross Calculations' field in the columns but that didn't work. Can you create two sample models with only a small set of data, let's say couple of 100 rows, just to ensure that the linking works as expected?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Martijn,

Sorry the delay of my answer.

I need to link all 4 dimensions in order to be able to have the right number in each line that I will display.

The 'Cross Calculations' field appeared when I tried to display the planning version for the secondary model, but that did not work.

I'm going to try with a small set of data.

    Keep you noticed.

    Thank you.

    Hi Martijn,

I've just tried with one user. The number of records is around 500.

When I used just one linked dimension based on the Employees dimension, It seems worked.

When I added the Version dimension from the secondary model, the 'Cross Calculations' field appears automatically but on the line side of the table [See below the print screen].

As soon as I tried to add a second linked dimension [TimesheetTask], I got the same error as the beginning.

Let me know if you have any question.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,
