Set dynamic Filter in Lumira Designer Script for scheduling report

Dear all:

The business requirement is to generate weekly report in PDF version and distribute to users.

Therefore we scheduled a plan in BI platform (BI4.2) and export LUMIRA by every weekend.

The problem is we have to change the dimension filter for LUMIRA report in background for each scheduling.

Our plan is to trigger DS.setFilter() at story’s event ”On Initialization”, but it failed to retrieve the period data set.

In Lumira Designer, is there any way to set dynamic filter for scheduling report?

Generally your approach is ok. The "On Initialization" event is executed ones for each Composite (a Story is a so-called Composite). The question is if the event might be too early for your global script function "getRequestDate", e.g. because another datasource is not initialized yet.

You might make yourself familiar with the Composite life-cycle. You can also extend the interface of the Composite and e.g. add an interface function (aka "method") that you can call from the embedding application, and e.g. pass your date in.
