BO X3.1 SP7 The secLdap plugin failed to connect to the specified hosts. (FWB 00028)

Product: BO X3.1 SP7

OS: windows server 2012 R2

Database: Oracle 12.1.0

LDAP: no SSL no SSO

No issue logging onto Desktop Intelligence using LDAP.

Logging onto Infoview using LDAP gives me FWB 000028.

My network team has verified the firewall is off on the 2012 server, and the LDAP server is online and working.

I see no activity in CMS log file. How do I get more details on the error from the tracing logs?

Thank you

Are you receiving the same error in the CMC. There are no LDAP specific settings on Infoview or CMC so if client tools can work then so should the web/app.

A couple things to try, on the SIA test if you can login by clicking the manage servers icon.(this should work like deski)

If you launch the browser on the SIA does it make a difference? I'm not sure 100% if the LDAP request is sent from the browser or the web/app so depending on that test result it should help.

You can't open a ticket to analyze logs and posting them out here would reveal too much info on your system. Typically for a logon issue a packet scanner like wireshark would be more helpful. Compare a working client log to failing web/app to see where things go wrong, filter to LDAP protocol.

1. Make sure your ldap host is correctly configured in CMC>Authenication>LDAP
2. Run network trace to see where connection fails.
3. Upgrade to 4.2+ 🙂

Thanks for the reply.

If the LDAP is not configured correctly, Desktop Intelligence LDAP login would fail, right?

I'm not sure if Deski talks to ldap directly or not, so It's worth checking.

Is there a way that I can test the LDAP is set up correctly?

I didn't get an error from the LDAP wizard. Sometimes if I put in the wrong port, I will get an error right away.

Thanks again.

If you can map ldap group and LDAP wizard is not erroring, then that part is setup properly.
So, you need to run network trace and look there.
