BEx Variables prompt not coming up for End Users in SAP Analytics Cloud

Hi All,

We have a story built in SAC which uses multiple models based on SAP BEx queries.

These are using linked variables.

For end users when the users are running story in View mode the Variable Prompt screen doesn't come up and the reset icon is disabled for them while still in View mode.

How can users be instructed to use such stories, Why linked Variables prompts disabled on startup, any specific intent by design?

Regards,

Kiran

Note this variable prompt comes correct for story developer

but end users who have BI_CONTENT_VIEWER role is not able to use this feature & prompt variable screen doesn't popup for them, also reset icon is disabled for them.

    Hi Kiran,

If you want to display the 'Set Variables for' dialog, you need to enable this to automatically open. Do you see different behavior for models with and without linked variables?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Kiran,

If you have a BI_CONTENT_CREATOR role, you are prompted and able to change the variables?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Kiran,

I checked with the standard BI Content Viewer role and that should work fine. Can you check the sharing permission applied for that user on the folder(s) in which the story en model(s) are stored?

    Kind regards,

Did you try forcing the Prompt using openPromptDialog(); on the onInitialization() of the Canvas?
