We want to migrate Sybase ASE to Window from Linux & Solaris. Appreciate if anyone can help with Best practices & approach to achieve the same?

    Downtime constraints and database sizes will dictate migration.

    If minimum down time is your need then set up replication from current to environment to windows.

    This is also good for big database sizes. This also allows you a side by side comparison, parallel runs till you gain a good comfort level.

    Though there is a cross platform dump and load utility available from SAP, in my opinion you can script your way using two powerful utilities provided by SAP namely bcp and ddlgen.

    Reading documentation on these should help you plan the migartion.
