Hey Specs,

What is your best practise for transporting developments from dev system to prod system with connection respectively.

I mean, right now when I transport a development in atl from DEV system to Prod system I need to reconfigure every datastore object everytime in BODS cause it sets every database connections to their development counterpart.

Do you have any solution to make this automaticly when you are transporting or you also need to reconfigure every connection after every transport ?

Thanks Andras

Use datastore configurations.

Full explanation in the SAP Data Services Designer Guide (help.sap.com), section 10.9 Create and manage multiple datastore configurations.

Thank you for the response.

Yeah I am actually using it under the manage tab, but as far as I can see I need to change the default settings in every environment manualy if I want to transport a Datastore object am I right ?

Not when you're using them in combination with System Configurations.

Associate all your PRD Datastore Configurations with the PRD System Configuration. And run or schedule your PRD jobs with the latter. That will automatically override the defaults.
