Year field in c4c , display only year wothout decimal notations

Dear Community ( C4C and ByDesign experts ),

I want to create a field where user can select a year ( Not a date ) or may be they can select a Date from calendar but it shows only year.

There is a Datatype Year ( found it from Repository explorer ) , I created the xBO field from SDK with that data type , but somehow it is also allowing characters. What can be done?
