Hello,
we are running one Windows Server 2008 R2 Server with Business Objects Server 4.2 Server on it. The Database is a Microsoft SQL Server 2014.
Now we need to migrate the Business Objects Server 4.2 from the Windows Server 2008 R2 to a Windows Server 2019 with Desktop Experience and switch off the old Windows Server after the Migration
I searched about this Scenario but i'am not sure how to do this without any Damage to the BO Enviroment.
Can somebody help me with this?
There's tons of content out there on migration - including how to do a full system migration in the Admin guide.
Here's the pattern book
Here's the new utility available in 4.2 SP05

you have 2 choices :
1. Upgrade OS in-place. Not recomended
2. Install BOE on the new servers and then either move content from originals or use same CMS DB for new ones.
Both are documented in links Brian shared and in various discussions and blogs here.
