Is it possible to stop pretty print from reformatting tabs to field types. I think it makes the code look very messy with different tab spaces in different methods. It doesn't do this to field-symbols.
Hello Kevin Neale,
Can you explain what do you mean by "reformatting tabs to field types".
In case if you wanted to change the formatting you can apply the required changes by navigating to T-code SE38 first, from there reach to below Path:
Utilities --> Settings--> ABAP Editor--> Select Pretty Printer Tab.
The below Setting shown is commonly maintained setting, This will make your key words (Eg: SELECT, READ TABLE, LOOP AT etc) as Upper case and code will be Indented appropriately.

Hi,
Though I don’t completely understand your issue, but i believe you can fix your issue by adjusting the pretty printer settings. Go to settings -> Pretty Printer. You may want to adjust indent option.
