SAP CPI and integration to Facebook

Hi,

We have a facebook page and a twitter handle. We also have SAP CPI license and we would like to do a POC around analysis of data that is being created in our social media platform

A couple of questions,

1 What kind of developer skills am I looking at to hire someone to achieve this?

2. I understand we have 10 gb of data available in SAP CP as a part of the license to store the data from social media platform. Once we do the integration and store the data in SAP CP, what kind of tools can we use to do the analysis? We dont want to bring the data back to our on prem Hana database yet, would like to know what options are available as a part of SAP CP to do some analysis.

Thanks!

Hi Bidwan

CPI does have two social media adapters (Facebook and Twitter), but they are receiver adapters, i.e. used to push data to those two platforms, not reading data from them.

You can, of course, call Facebook and Twitter HTTP APIs from CPI, and, for instance, store the retrieved data in a database in your subaccount.

From there, it's a matter of analytics. Here's a recent blog post about working with Twitter data in HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud.

Regards,

Morten
