SAP CAI Integration with SAP on-prem systems

Is something related to SAP CAI integration with SAP on-prem systems in roadmaps? A feature where a managed service could connect to on-prem system of choice? If yes then what are the planned feature, if no then what is the workaround?

Any leads/resources regarding this very helpful.

Hi Divyansh,

with the latest 1909 release it is now possible to use Destinations configured in SAP Cloud Platform Cloud Foundry as well as a SAP Cloud Connector configured in the subaccount.

for details.

Using the new "Consume API Service" actions you can directly call APIs of the On Premise system from SAP Conversation AI.

Hi Jonas,

Thanks for the clarification.

Though, SSO is now available for Fiori Launchpad based application in the new release with SAP Conversational AI Web Client, what would be the authentication and authorization mechanism if the application is on-prem and non-fiori based. Any pointers to this scenario? Any plans to release SSO feature for Normal Web Client?

Hi Divyansh,

for OnPrem, you can configure a SAP Cloud Connector in your SAP Cloud Platform Cloud Foundry subaccount. You can use any authentication mechanism that is supported by the Destination service, e.g. in connection with the SAP Cloud Connector Principal Propagation or otherwise OAuth2SAMLBearer or App2AppSSO.

The new web client can be in general used for any application - independent of Fiori Launchpad. Precondition is always that your application uses the same IdP that is configured in the subaccount.

Regards
Jonas
