Can AD behave as Source for IDM

Hi All,

IDM 8 sp6 mssql

Could you please suggest on the document, where AD can be a source for IDM, i.e where Users be first created in AD and then the same gets created in IDM I have been through some blogs and answers, but could only find that AD is a recipient of user ids from IDM
