Importing SAP data into SQL if we don't own SAP

Hello all,

I am just doing some fact finding. We have a business partner that uses SAP but we ourselves do not use it currently. We would like to get copies of their SAP data into our SQL database so we also have it.

Is this even possible if we don't own SAP? If it is possible does anyone know what steps we would have to take?

I have been googling this morning but so far everything I have found seems to suggest we need SAP on our end.

You can check with your business partner that if they have product call SAP PI...

This will allow them to dump data to file or directly in to your SQL table
