F4_DATE_CONTROL issue with selecting a date in January

Hello,

We are using F4_DATE_CONTROL to choose the date in F4 for a custom report. But considering current date to be in September, if we try to enter 01.01.2019 a(Issue is with entering, i can manually scroll and choose 01.01.2019); and click tikc(or enter) it doesnt give 01.01.2019; but instead gives the current date it Self(For eg. 27.09.2019). Is this is a known bug?; and do we have a workaround for this.
