MRP Change

Hello,

I have this specific scenario:

The company uses forecast based planning to buy stock, wich means the MRP type should be VV. Although, in some sales order documents the material can have a different MRP, due to specific needs to a particular project. I suppose this material can't be running the VV MRP type anymore. So the question here is it possible to change the MRP type during sales order - relating it to item category or any other configuration?

Thanks in advance

Hello Fabio

The MRP type/Item Category combination in the sales order can be used to determine the requirement type, but it is not the only possibility to set a requirement type. The requirement type may also come from the planning strategy, for example. The determination of the requirement type is defined in the customizing transaction OVZI.

You can create a strategy group with different planning strategies, each one referring to a specific requirement group, and assign it to your material. In this case, you should be able to select the requirement type directly in the sales order and you won't need to change the requirement type.

See this link for details:

In my opinion, 1st you need to know how the requirement type is getting determined in your sales order. Whether it is through sales config or production planning set-up?

Say, your requirement type is determined through Sales Config. Then look at Tcode OVZI.Where based on Item Category and MRP Type you can differentiate requirment type.

Thanks,

Thanks for your answer.

Supposing i have Z item category - I have to assign the MRP type PD with a Requirement Type 031 Order requirement and the VV to a specif Requirement Type (Z)? Since there is none for forecasting..
