Workflow for missing or damaged Parts


Good afternoon All.

A little new to the community, however i am looking for a little help on the following Scenario

Working with MRP and operations we regularly have material issues that need to be controlled through the right process. Does a work flow "currently" exist that would enable me to replenish missing/lost or damaged parts quickly through SAP-QM. which will filter through to our materials team.

- The material cost anything from from a penny washer to £100.00 kit.

- Must be able to raise a notification in minimal time.

- Must have the ability to analysis the failure modes at the end of the month through the reporting function.

Should i consider building a custom notification to fulfill my requirements ????

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
