Metric calculation based on Current Date or System Date

Hello experts , we have a Date Difference feature to calculate measure in story however it is limited to Date A - Date B calculation. I wanted to bucketize and count records as In Progress , Completed etc by comparing Date A , Date B with Current Date or System Date . Has someone already attempted this in the story ? It would be helpful if you are able to share some insights.
