POSC within LOSC in EWM

Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible to achieve a POSC within LOSC process. Let me explain the details of the requirement.

We have Domestic and Export Staging Areas. The Staging Areas are determined by Warehouse Process Types and Route at the very beginning of the creation of the Outbound Delivery, based on the condition maintained via /SCWM/STADET_OUT. The determination of the corresponding Warehouse Process type for Domestic or Export are assigned to Delivery Priority (as Domestic or Export). However, once the a Delivery is created:

- If it's a Domestic Case, it follows the path : Picking from Source Storage Type > Box Packing Area > Nesting Area (for repacking several such boxes into one Pallet) > Domestic Staging Area.

- If it's an Export Case, it follows the path : Picking from Source Storage Type > Box Packing Area > Export Bench (for Printing and Labeling Export related activities) > Nesting Area (for repacking several such boxes into one Pallet) > Export Staging Area.

The Pick is done via POSC process, followed by the LOSC process for the movement from Box Packing Area to Staging Area i.e. if the Staging Area is Domestic the movement to Staging Area should be via Nesting Area and if the Staging Area is Export, the movement should be to Nesting Area via Export Bench, and finally to Export Staging Area.

But the requirement is to create WT from Nesting to Staging Area only when 'HU Complete' is ticked in the Nesting Area in transaction /SCWM/PACK. In simple LOSC process this is not possible as completion of one WT generates another, immediately. But here the WT for Staging Area should be created after 'HU Complete' button is pressed at Nesting Area.

Is it possible via standard configuration?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Amit

Thanks Juergen,

So I learned that it's not possible to call POSC within LOSC. However, to solve our current issue that to trigger WT upon HU completion at Nesting Area, we took LOSC path only but assigned a Work Centre on Nesting Area and enable the work centre to repack even at open WT. So when the product reaches to Nest Area, we repack using the open WT and it creates a new WT taking the highest HU. It works for our solution.

Thanks

Hi,

"But the requirement is to create WT from Nesting to Staging Area only when 'HU Complete' is ticked in the Nesting Area in transaction /SCWM/PACK."

That is why you do not do this: "The Pick is done via POSC process, followed by the LOSC process for the movement from Box Packing Area to Staging Area" Why do you try to do this with LOSC? This is a "Staging" step, so you use POSC for that, too.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi Juergen,

Thanks for the suggestion. I wish I could do that. Because there are other documents type which follows LOSC and the new one should follow the same path however, with a bifurcation for Export and Domestic process as stated earlier. So it has to follow the LOSC process.

Hi,

if this path for other documents is what you described above, already there LOSC is wrong.
