sybase replication server switchover.

Hi All,

In my organisation we will going to perform DR test & so I am looking for step by step guideline which need to be taken from SRS perspective.

What all things need to taken care while doing switchover & How to make sure it performed correctely. What changes need to make on primary & standby replication servers & on primary & replicated data servers.

We have hetronegous setup of DB2(source) ---SRS1====SRS2---HANA(Destination).

Many Thanks

Regards, Sukriti Verma.

Unless something has changed quite recently, SRS doesn't support HANA as a source database.

As for switching steps (assuming both RDBMS are supported by SRS as primary and replicate db) ... this will depend a lot on your type of replication (eg, switching steps for Warm Standby are going to be different than the switching steps for MSA; Warm Standby has fewer steps to perform if everything works as expected but (quite) a bit harder to recover from if things go wrong; MSA requires more steps by the DBA but is easier to recover from if anything goes wrong).
