how to generate LDM from OOM?

Is there a way to generate a Logical Data Model (LDM) directly from an Object Oriented Model using PowerDesigner 16.5 SP5.

Sure, but it is not that straightforward as for generating CDM or PDM.

Create an extension in your OOM. In the root folder in your extension show the context menu and choose: Add Items - Object generations.Under Object generations call context menu and choose New. On the General tab set the Target model type as LDM. Then button Mappings... and map your OOM objects (and their properties) to LDM objects (and their properties). Not only classes, you have to do separately their collections, like Attributes, etc. Your extension will be available through Tools - Generate objects -...

If this is a one-off operation, generate a CDm, then generate a LDM from the CDM. You may need to experiment with the CDM and LDM model options regarding uniqueness of CDM Data Items, and the use of many-to-many relationships in the LDM.
