SAP MaxDB 7.5 documentation?

Hi community. I have found the SAP Note 767598, which refers to links with information, help and documentation about SAP MaxDB versions from 7.6 and later.

I have an old test system running SAP ERP 2005 (NW 6.40) with SAP MaxDB 7.5 on Windows 2003, and I have been looking for documentation of this DB version and is very difficult.

Have anyone information about the documentation of SAP MaxDB 7.5?

Hi Alejandro Jimenez,

Did not quite get if you are looking for any particular steps to perform on your MaxDB system or you need some MaxDB commands, I am sure that you can have the MaxDB client install, i mean MaxDB Cockpit to execute tasks like back-ups & restore which are not so different process than the updated version

What is your DB OS 32-bit or 64-bit, by the way

Do you have plans to upgrade the ECC also to a later version, this also looks pretty ancient. Also Windows 2003 is out-of-support now, so is there any plan to get it upgraded to like Windows2016

Thanks for the links, some of them I have checked too. I have the MaxDB Cockpit and it can execute tasks. I wanted to know if there is a full documentation of 7.5 version like versions 7.6 and later.

Yes, in this test system we (in the office) want to perform a full upgrade to SAP ERP 6.0 Ehp8 with MaxDB 9 on Windows 2012 R2 64bits, it's a small intern project for preparation to perform a similar project next year for a client having the same architecture.

But we know the upgrade will be difficult, because the whole scenario is too old, we have as an alternative, to propose a new implementation of the same process, and to use the data of the old system as initial data of the new system.

We still want (at least) to plan the upgrade, for learning purposes.

Any suggestions?

Sorry, Unfortunately was not able to understand what you were looking for from your initial Question & also did not get the info, which details, you already checked, so that I could have rolled-out already that part informing you.

Anyways, coming to your query related to guide, below is the Upgrade guide to 7.9 in Windows, as you should plan to move to 7.9 at least as per SAP Note: 1020175, 2490228, 919225, 919224(for win2012R2-64bit compatibility), since you mentioned, "project next year for a client having the same architecture"
