UI Designer has caught an exception. XRepositoryException (0)

Hello,

I found this issue trying to edit custom screen using SAP Cloud Application Studio. "UI Designer has caught an exception. XRepositoryException (0) The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel".

Any idea how can I solve this? Thanks for your replies.

    Hi Julián,

    Please review these two entries on your windows registry, variable should be 1 for both SchUseStrongCrypto:

    If the error still persists, then try reinstalling the Visual Studio Shell (isolated):

    Dear Julian,

    Kindly report an incident to SAP, seems like some backend inconsistencies which we would need to analyze.

    Regard

    Hello Julian,

    I would simply recommend reinstalling the newest version of the Cloud Application Studio from the SAP ONE Support Launchpad first. I know this has solved similar issues in the past.

    You have to check registry entries that Thiago indicated. You can change them via powershell:

    Set-ItemProperty -Path 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\.NetFramework\v4.0.30319' -Name 'SchUseStrongCrypto' -Value '1' -Type DWord
    Set-ItemProperty -Path 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NetFramework\v4.0.30319' -Name 'SchUseStrongCrypto' -Value '1' -Type DWord

    As secure standard protocols and used protocols may change, you have to ensure avalilable protocols for .NET framework via powershell:

    [System.Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol = @("Tls12","Tls11","Tls","Ssl3")

    After that, you can validate changes executing this command:

    [Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol

    Regards.

    Try this

    Please ensure you have the below settings enabled in your Windows machine to avoid connectivity issues from SAP Cloud For Customer and SAP Business ByDesign application add-ons:
    In your Windows PC. Go to Windows search and type "Regedit". Click on Yes. It opens the Registry Editor. Open the path below based on the version of .NET Framework installed on your machine, in this case it is 4.0.30319: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v 4.0.30319

    If you find the value defined as 0 instead of 1, follow below steps to change “data” from 0 to 1 and further test the result:
    Key: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319 Value: SchUseStrongCrypto Type: REG_DWORD Data: 1
    Key:Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319 Value: SchUseStrongCrypto Type: REG_DWORD Data: 1
    If you don't find the "SchUseStrongCrypto" in your registry inside any or both of the .NETFramework paths, please create one by following the steps below:
    Important Note: Your machine account will need to have administrator privileges.
    Right click in the empty space. Select New. Click on DWORD (32-bit) Value. Type the name "SchUseStrongCrypto" for the newly created entry. Double click "SchUseStrongCrypto" again to edit it. Make sure Value Data is 1.
