Dear Guru’’s,
We have decided to partition table BSEG and FAGLFLEXA and we are doing it based on SAP Note : 2044468.
What does bulk_thread and split _thread does during partition phase.
If a value is set as 12 for bulk load thread and 48 is set for split thread. How it’s being splitted what makes the difference in values since split thread can be set up to 120. How it splits is it based on cpus and ram and how it splits. Our environment has 6TB and 120 CPU’s.
Thanks and Regards,
Mithran

Dear Yogesh Patel,
we have successfully partitioned FAGLFLEXA table in our system.
Things we did on our end.
1. Removed Statement_Memory_Limit (earlier also we removed this one,yet we faced issue)
2. Restarted Database before starting activity
Thanks again for sharing your views

Vivek

Dear Yogesh Patel
Thanks for replying my query and sorry for being late in response.
setting the thread values does not change much in partition. so started in default values and ran in our test environment and it was successful.
When we proceeded in our production system. Partition ended with error. FAGLFLEXA had 2 partitions earlier. now proceeded with 8 partitions and it got failed with error stating "split/merge failed". All parameters are correct.
I am having a doubt whether before starting partition, HANA DB need to be restarted so all the connections will be removed?
Thanks & Regards,
Mithran
