Dear Guru,

Is it mandatory to run ./saproot.sh with root once kernel is upgraded.

We have our PRD systems running in Hana dB 1.0 SPS12 .

We recently did kernel upgrade and in one of the prd systems forgot to run ./saproot.sh will it create any problems. System performance all k. If it need to be run what would happen if run ./saproot.sh when SAP services are running.

Please do the need

Thanks and Regards

Mithran

Hello,

the saproot.sh configures the ownership and permissions to the kernel files.

https://help.sap.com/doc/saphelp_crm700_ehp02/7.0.2.17/en-US/4a/6de92cd4917324e10000000a42189c/conte...

I wouldn't panic if you forgot to run it. Check the permissions of kernel files on the dev system and compare it with the production. If you notice a difference, run the saproot.sh during the next downtime.

As your system started I think the permissions are OK for most of the files.

Hi Jarkowski,

Thanks a lot for your inputs,we faced many dumps once user started their transactions and we got downtime and ran ./saproot.sh and post running it dumps stopped.

Where as in another system we are not able to move TRs post upgrade some . Only 2 systems we are not able to move trs, whereas rest of the systems of same kernel trs are moved successfully. Our current kernel is latest 753 424 for Database HANA 1.0 SPS 12

Thanks and Regards,
