Gurus:

I need to use SARA to delete some master records (materials/vendors) without having to archive data to a content server. How can this be achieved? Thanks!

Hi Lifeng LeeFung Wu,

If you do not specify in the customizing a storage system (SARA > Customizing > Archiving Object-Specific Customizing: Technical Settings > Place File in Storage System), the file created by the write program won't be stored to a content server. Instead it will be kept in the file system.

Best regards,

Máté

Mate : it works. Thanks.

My next question is: how do I access archived data via standard SAP transaction codes/ ? Any configuration required?

Hello,

Glad to hear it worked! Regarding the access to the archived documents, you may look up the owner area of the used archiving objects on the below Wiki page:
https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SI/Assignment+of+Archiving+Objects+to+Application+Components
Afterwards I suggest to review SAP Notes/KBAs with tags like "archived documents".

Best regards,

Máté
