Reversing a GR Clearing posting

A goods receipt was cancelled using MR21 previously. 13 months later an invoice was received against that PO.

Unfortunately the Purchase Order will not allow processing of the invoice against the order.

How can I delete the Account maintenance posting, or resolve the issue to enable posting, matching & paying the invoice?

Hi,

You can use the tcode: MR11SHOW to cancel the GR/IR clearing document, so that system will allow the Invoicing.

Hi Brian,

GR was cancelled using MR21? I am lost here.

if the GR was reversed using MIGO: you got invoice now, check if you are going to receive goods, if so please do GR and then invoice posting.

if the GR was reversed using MIGO: you got invoice now, check if you are going to receive goods if not, do not enter the invoice as vendor confirmed that he won't be giving you goods. or enter invoice and ask him to issue credit memo, this way you could reconcile vendor statement against your postings.

if you have ran MR11 account maintenance on your PO then:

you initial GR entry

Inventor Dr and GR/IR clearing Cr

your MR11 entry

GR/IR clearing Dr and Inventory Cr ( this is financial posting only), no impact on inventory quantity.

meaning you have 5 qty in hand, you did GR for 5 more, now your total qty is 10. you have ran MR11 now, you qty would still be 10 but MAP is halved to offset FI postings.

best way to proceed in your case is: reverse the MR11 posting, and then invoice. beware that MAP will change because of these posting but still it's your BEST BET.

if you are not going to receive goods, it's still better to reverse MR11, cancel the GR using MIGO and don't post invoice as your not going to receive goods anyway. or post invoice and credit memo depending on how you and your vendor does reconciliation.

P:S: read more documentation about MR11
